Samsung reportedly plans on unveiling its Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone during Q3 2023, expected to offer minor upgrades over its predecessor with some key modifications.
The key difference in the Galaxy Z Flip5 may be its larger cover display. While its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip4, has a 2.1-inch cover display, this upgrade could feature a larger 2.4-inch cover display for easier and quicker tasks such as checking notifications or taking selfies.
Another change would be the likely addition of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which may give a performance boost to the Galaxy Z Flip5. This may also give Samsung another reason to update their design of its Flip models.
Other than these specific changes, the Galaxy Z Flip5 should remain very similar to its predecessor in terms of design, camera system and battery life.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 should follow suit and start at around $1,000, similar to its predecessor the Galaxy Z Flip4. Since it starts at $999 for the current generation Galaxy Z Flip4, expect prices similar to these for its successor device.
Overall, the Galaxy Z Flip5 appears to be a modest improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip4. A larger cover display and new chipset may provide welcome changes; otherwise it should remain similar.
