FPT, Vietnam’s largest IT services provider and Mila (Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute) recently renewed a three-year strategic partnership agreement at Canada-Vietnam AI Summit (Montreal, June 2, 2023) hosted in Montreal. A renewal ceremony took place as part of this event.
FPT and Mila will explore collaboration on research projects related to large language models (LLMs) and natural language processing (NLP), while advocating Responsible AI as an approach to using artificial intelligence with good intentions to empower individuals and organizations. Both parties will contribute towards developing guidelines, best practices, ethical standards and policies which foster transparency, fairness, accountability, privacy in AI applications. Together these organizations hope to tackle complex problems while creating an AI ecosystem which fosters sustainable growth, human development and social progress.
At the Canada-Vietnam AI Summit, which commemorated 50th Anniversary of their bilateral relationship, an expanded partnership was unveiled and discussed among conference participants – members from Canadian and Vietnamese governments as well as scientists, leaders from Mila FPT’s North American partners as well as Mila’s partner Mila. An overview was given regarding an AI enabled future as well as efforts made towards making technology beneficial and safe for human lives.
