Elon Musk has challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight after the Meta CEO announced plans to launch a new social media platform called “Threads”.
Musk and Zuckerberg have been involved in a war of words on Twitter in recent weeks, with Musk accusing Zuckerberg of copying other social media platforms.
In a tweet, Musk said: “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment.”
He added: “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”
Zuckerberg has not yet responded to Musk’s challenge, but he has shown that he is no stranger to MMA fighting.
In January, Zuckerberg was spotted taking on a fellow competitor in a jiu-jitsu tournament in Redwood City, California.
The Meta CEO was eventually pinned after a tussle in the ring, but the referee later clarified that Zuckerberg had not actually tapped out.
It remains to be seen whether Musk and Zuckerberg will actually go head-to-head in a cage fight, but it is certainly an intriguing prospect.
